Women across the country have begun to earn recognition for their contributions to the economy, and gain a stronger voice in specific policy initiatives of government and financial institutions, thanks to her establishment of the Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. She has also pioneered programs in Family Business Management and Entrepreneurship for Women at the University of Toronto, and sits on the boards of the Robarts Research Institute and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, among others.
