Former Director of Nursing at the James Bay General Hospital, she worked for some twenty years in outpost hospitals in Fort Albany and Attawapiskat. She has also served Native peoples in the region and tended to the health of inhabitants of isolated communities, often in the absence of a permanent doctor.
