First mayor of the City of Laval, former member and former Speaker of the National Assembly of Quebec, he devoted a quarter of a century to serving the public. He collaborated in merging the fourteen municipalities of Île Jésus, which today form the City of Laval, and participated in many important projects in his region. In addition, he is involved in the life of the community through his work with a number of humanitarian organizations.
