A social worker by profession, she has distinguished herself as a family counsellor, writer and lecturer, and consultant in Asian culture, art and business. Her research on the impact of adolescent learning disabilities on their behavioral problems, and on the cross-cultural differences in patterns of child abuse, has effected positive changes in therapeutic approaches in both China and North America.
