He is a model of selflessness and concern for others. The founder of both the Canadian and American Dystonia Medical Research Foundations, he continues to play an active role in the direction of these organizations and in their significant fundraising efforts. Also involved with human rights issues, he has helped educate people about the Holocaust and encourage tolerance. In addition, the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University have greatly benefited from his generosity. This is a promotion within the Order.
