    A dynamic executive throughout her career in numerous, senior public service postings, her endeavours have reflected the highest of standards, which have carried over to her present position as Chairman of the Public Service Commission. Her outstanding administrative and leadership abilities extended to her role as first woman President of the Canadian Red Cross, during which time she was responsible for a number of successful initiatives.

    Her extraordinary ability and commitment to public service have been reflected in roles such as Deputy Minister of Transport Canada and President of the Canadian International Development Agency. Chancellor of the University of Ottawa since 1994, she has been recognized with numerous awards for her contributions, which continue to touch people at home and around the globe.
