Founding Chairman of the Technical Division of the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association and a charter member of what has become the Chemical Institute of Canada, his long and distinguished career has been marked with a number of firsts, including the first Ph.D. in Chemical Engineeering from Columbia University. At one hundred and one, he continues to be influential in the industry and an energetic advocate of protection of our environment and the regulation and preservation of our forest resources.
