Schooled in both official languages, pastor of both anglophone and francophone communities and instrumental in the creation and development of Laurentian, a bilingual university, he is a champion of bilingual and bicultural rights and social justice, known for his promotion of native rights and for his fundamental role in the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.
