As the long-time President of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, he played a leading role in the growth of the Pool into Canada's largest co-operative and has represented the interests of Canadian grain farmers admirably both nationally and internationally during his lifelong involvement in the agricultural industry. In addition, he is active in community affairs and is the current Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan.
