A pioneer in the family planning movement, she is responsible for establishing the first municipally-funded birth control clinic in Canada, under the Scarborough Board of Health. Her professional career has parallelled voluntary activities directed at educating the public about general human sexuality issues and toward enhancing the awareness of professionals with respect to society's response to these issues.
