Former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, he had a commonsense approach to his position and was a strong advocate of the need for simplicity, practicality and workability in thejustice system. During his distinguished career, courts at boththe provincial and federal levels benefitted from his greatknowledge and experience, as did several Commissions of Inquiry.
