Atlantic Canada's pioneer of pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete component manufacturing, he supervised the laying of the first pavement on the Trans Canada Highway in Newfoundland. He was also the project manager for the construction of the province's first oil refinery and today, as president of three engineering contracting firms, plays a major role in the construction associated with the development of off-shore petroleum resources.
