A visionary in Canadian architectural circles, she has dedicated a decade of her professional life to increasing public consciousness of the role of architecture through what is perhaps her crowning achievement, the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal, an internationally renowned architectural library, photographic archive and study facility. She participates in numerous architecture and design conferences and competition juries, in her efforts to preserve the past and to contribute to the architectural innovations of the present. This is a promotion within the Order.

She is a recognized author and social activist in the Canadian architectural and urban planning community. The founding Director of the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal, one of the most important architectural collections in the world, she is as well known for her sensitive and award-winning restorations of heritage buildings as for her contemporary designs.

Her contribution to architecture continues to be innovative and influential. Founder and former director of the Canadian Centre for Architecture, she led this institution into an alliance with New York's Whitney Museum, allowing for greater exposure of the Centre's celebrated exhibitions. As well, she inaugurated an international design prize under the Centre's auspices and a program that enables scholars to travel from around the world to study its collection. She is currently Chair of the Centre's Board of Trustees. She also served on the boards of several prominent North American architectural schools and received countless Canadian and international awards and honours throughout her career. This is a promotion within the Order.
