A missionary agriculturalist, educator and village improvement expert, he served in Africa for three decades, working with the people to combat soil erosion, to improve sanitation and nutrition and to develop appropriate technology. Utterly dedicated to Third World farmers, he continues his extensive activities in retirement, serving as a key collaborator in the Developing Countries Farm Radio Network and head of the Seeds for Africa Project.
