A seafaring man who stood before the mast on many a sailing ship, he has passed his love of the sea on to young and old alike as the long-time Director of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. He contributed to the preservation of Atlantic Canada's marine heritage through his persistence, foresight and dedicated curatorial work over the years, turning the museum from a private institution with modest exhibits into one of international repute with a superb collection.
