A successful stockbroker, Reford MacDougall has distinguished himself through his many volunteer activities. Deeply committed to helping youth at risk, in 1970 he founded and directed a rehabilitation centre for young drug addicts. He also helped found Toujours ensemble inc., an organization providing services and counselling to needy Montreal youth, and has assisted in its fundraising activities. He has helped raise millions of dollars for numerous other organizations, including the Douglas Hospital, McGill University and the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival. In addition, he is known for his deep affection for his country.
