A former parish priest in St-Bruno, Québec, he is known for his dedication to the people of Third World countries and his unflagging support for the poor and immigrants in his own diocese. Co-founder of the Minta Committee, which was formed to aid one of the rural regions of central Cameroon, he is presently Director General in charge of projects for the "Association pour le développement participé", which is carrying on the work of the Minta Committee in Lesotho, Haiti and Papua New Guinea.
