They have lived out the ideals and realities of social justice and community service and been an inspiration and example to others through their involvement in numerous organizations from Amnesty International to Meals on Wheels. Instrumental in the creation of the Native Studies Program at Laurentian University and the Burwash Native People's Project among others, they have demonstrated spiritual, cultural and practical support to natives, non-natives, foreign students and others, with open-hearted generosity and an intense faith in human kind.
