Under his stewardship as the first Executive Director of the Canadian Film Development Corporation, now Telefilm Canada, the modern Canadian motion picture industry has flourished and won world-wide recognition. He has offered unstinting support and encouragement to Canadian filmmakers, in both languages, and devoted his career to promoting and preserving our culture in an area heavily subject to foreign influence.
