Chief Neurosurgeon at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Royal Victoria Hospital, he is an internationally-recognized authority on, and has made substantial original developments to, the surgical treatment of spinal disorders and the microsurgical treatment of pituitary tumours. He has also made outstanding contributions to graduate education in Canada as Director of McGill University's Neurosurgical Post-Graduate Training Programme.
