Vital to the heart and soul of the Stratford Festival, he has provided leadership and inspiration there for nearly 50 years. One of the theatre company's founding members, he has appeared in more than 100 productions, lending a sense of identity, continuity and cohesiveness to the Festival. Committed to transmitting his love for his craft, he taught drama for many years at the University of California, Irvine and remains a generous and much-loved role model and mentor for young actors.
