Founder and Executive Director for twenty-six years of the world-renowned Ontario Addiction Research Foundation, he has served as a highly-respected member of many national and international committees, including the World Health Organization and the International Council on Alcohol and Addictions where his efforts generated extensive goodwill for Canada. He is currently serving as Chairman of the newly-created Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse.
