Former Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and Honorary Colonel of the Ist Halifax-Darmouth Field Artillery Regiment, RCA. After a distinguished military career he became an industrial leader in Halifax and has played an important role in such undertakings as the Army Cadet League of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.
