Described as the last of the intrepid breed of western pilots, "Stubb" Ross learned to fly while working on the family ranch in Alberta. He joined the Flying Farmers who patrolled herds and fences over great tracts of land by air. As aviation pioneer and businessman, he has made major contributions to commercial aviation in the west. He has also served a Chairman of the Airline Transport Association of Canada.
