As a volunteer and later as Secretary General of the Canadian Section of Amnesty International, he devoted himself to protecting and furthering the full range of fundamental rights and freedoms of people throughout the world. He has increased public awareness of human rights violations by leading several fact-finding missions on behalf of the International Secretariat. A tireless worker and activist for the movement, he has contributed to the advancement of democracy in Canada and abroad.
