He is a model of service, commitment and integrity. Former Attorney General and Premier of Manitoba, he was known as a politician who was at once a consensus builder and progressive. Later, he was appointed the Paul Martin Chair in International Relations and Law at the University of Windsor. A professor in both political science and law at the University, he is respected as a gifted and caring teacher. Immersing himself fully in community service, he has volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, Legal Aid and the Canadian Liver Foundation.
