Arthur Hanson is a leader in the fields of environmental science and sustainable development. Founding director of the School for Resource and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, he has been a thoughtful advocate for balancing economic needs with the preservation of our natural resources. His leadership brought widespread recognition to the International Institute for Sustainable Development, where he is currently distinguished fellow and senior scientist. He has also served as an advisor and consultant to numerous organizations and governments in Canada and abroad, particularly on responsible fisheries management.
