Former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Great-West Life Assurance Company, he has given generously of his time and expertise to many community causes, in particular to higher education and the arts. Chancellor of Brandon University, he was a member of the provincial commission on post-secondary education and is a past chairman of the Development Council of the University of Manitoba. A strong supporter of the arts, he is a former Director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and served as a Governor of the Banff Centre for the Arts.
