A leading scholar and researcher, Philip Halloran has advanced our knowledge of the factors that influence successful organ grafts. Professor in the departments of Medicine and Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta, he is director of the Alberta Transplant Institute. Serving in leadership positions in medical organizations both in Canada and abroad, he has been chairman of the board of trustees for the Roche Organ Transplant Research Foundation. As well, he is the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Transplantation. Setting new standards for care in transplant medicine, he continues to train and guide young researchers and physicians in this specialized field.
