Lewis MacKenzie is renowned for his professionalism, leadership and dedication to the men and women of the Canadian Forces. He is equally applauded for his humanitarian and voluntary work in Canada and abroad. For more than three decades, he served in various command positions and in many peacekeeping missions. A supporter of charitable causes, he has been active within organizations such as the Canadian Special Olympics, the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research and Parkinson Society Canada. Moreover, his work as patron of ICROSS Canada (International Community for the Relief of Starvation and Suffering) has won praise both nationally and internationally. He is also known as a writer, lecturer and commentator on United Nations peacekeeping and security matters. His service to others is an inspiration to us all.
