This human rights advocate is a model of caring, compassion and understanding for the impoverished, the homeless and those in despair. In 1982, Carolyn McNulty founded the Romero House Soup Kitchen to provide one hot meal a day for those who would otherwise go hungry. As its executive director, she has been instrumental in expanding Romero House to include health care services, emergency food orders, clothing distribution, a mobile street service and life skills classes. Committed to alleviating poverty in her community, she served as coordinator of the West Side Food Bank, founding member of the Saint John Legal Centre and board member of the Saint John Outreach Clinic.
