She is an inspiring example of tenacity and dedication. She began as a "Girl Friday" in the 1940s with the Rivtow Group. By the time she retired in 1989, it was one of the largest marine companies in British Columbia and she was its president and chief operating officer. Now the highly regarded head of the B.C. and Yukon Council of St. John Ambulance, she has lent her insight and expertise to countless other organizations. Her leadership roles have included chairing an aboriginal business foundation and a sexual assault recovery program. She is also among the founders and the current chair of an interpretive centre devoted to the historic Fraser River.
