Displaying passion, leadership and creativity, Jean Roberts has dedicated her career to the development of the performing arts. Among her numerous accomplishments, she established the theatre department at the National Arts Centre and introduced a playwright-in-residence program. As well, she created and headed the production course at the newly formed National Theatre School in Montreal. Highly respected among her peers, she was involved with the Crest and the Canadian Players theatres and the Stratford Festival of Canada. She also served as head of theatre and dance at the Canada Council for the Arts and taught drama, inspiring new generations of enthusiasts with her love of theatre.
