Robert Carsen is an internationally renowned director of opera. His inventive and modern staging has earned him invitations to showcase his work at the world's most famous venues. He was the first North American to stage a production at the OpÚra Bastille, in Paris. and was also selected for the reopening of the legendary La Fenice opera house in Venice. As well, he helped Japan's first opera company to launch its inaugural season. Also a director of theatre and musical theatre, he is the recipient of numerous awards and continues to be an extraordinary artistic ambassador for Canada.
