Bernard Finkelstein has put his stamp on the Canadian music industry as an impassioned champion of homegrown artists. In 1969, he founded True North Records, Canada's oldest independent record company, to showcase our musicians. In so doing, he paved the way for the establishment of many other independent labels. An industry builder, he has shared his time and talents with the Canadian Music Council, the Canadian Independent Record Production Association and VideoFACT. His gifts for discovering talent, developing artists and promoting music are hallmarks of his vast contributions to Canadian music.
