Since the early 1930s, he has worked hard and successfully both in and for the Czechoslovak community in Canada. Through such organizations as the Czechoslovak National Association in Canada, the Masaryk Memorial Institute and the Canadian Fund for Czechoslovakian Refugees, all based in Toronto, he has helped generations of Czechoslovakian immigrants to adapt in Canada while maintaining their own culture.
