For many years he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Robert Simpson Co. in Toronto. Despite his commitment to his company, from which he is now retired, he always found time to lend himself to a host of community causes and organizations, holding such positions as Chairman of the United Appeal of Metropolitan Toronto, President of the Toronto Board of Trade, President of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and Chairman of the Halton Region Conservation Foundation.
