By turns a timber scaler, travelling salesman and brakeman before being elected in 1944 to sit as a Union Nationale Member of the National Assembly in Quebec. Mr. Bellemare, who was re- elected nine times, served as a minister, acting premier and acting leader of his party. A politician who always cared about the welfare of working people and served his province and country with enthusiasm, determination and skill.
