Canada's best-known golfer and the only Canadian to win eight P.G.A. tour events, he served as a model good-will ambassador for Canada throughout his professional career in international tournaments. Despite his busy schedule as a player and teacher he has always been a strong supporter of charitable causes, freely lending his time, talent and name to fund-raising efforts for such worthy causes as the Ontario Special Olympics, the Heart/Lung Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Princess Margaret Hospital.
