Dedicated to the study, research and maintenance of Irish traditions in Canada, he is currently a professor at Saint Mary's University, where he has established the D'Arcy McGee Chair of Irish Studies. Through his writings and teaching, he has helped to promote and preserve an important part of the Canadian heritage.
