    A native of Toronto and former member of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service who, since 1956, has served the Department of External Affairs in various parts of the world, and latterly as the Ambassador's secretary in Tehran. For devoted service in the difficult months preceding the withdrawal of Canadian staff and during the period of tension when arrangements were being made for the escape of the six Americans.
