A retired army officer, this Halifax resident has devoted much of his life since 1971 to disabled, sick or disadvantage children at the Izaak Walton Killam Hospital. Always available and prepared to devote evenings, weekends and holidays to the personal care of hospitalized children most in need of help, he reads to them, feeds them, takes them for drives, writes to their parents and shares their confidences during a critical time in their lives.
