After war service in Holland and Germany he joined the family printing firm and became its president in 1953. He has been active in the chamber of commerce movement and, in London, Ontario, the Church, the Salvation Army, museums and schools, health care and the Heritage London Fund. As Honorary Colonel of the Royal Canadian Regiment he is now president of the Council of Honorary Colonels.
