Educator and pioneer in the cooperative economic movement at both the co-op and credit union level, he has worked to uphold and promote French-language rights in the Niagara Peninsula and to establish the Welland region's first French-language public high school. His efforts have been made on behalf of such groups as the Association canadienne française de l'Ontario.
