A mere six years after arriving as a refugee from the Nazis, Walter Homburger formed a concert agency in Toronto, which brought artists of the calibre of Segovia and Horowitz to Canada, organized opera tours and sponsored major Canadian artists, orchestras and ballets. His major achievement has been made since 1962 as Managing Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, which he has helped to bring to international renown.
