He has devoted a lifetime to world peace. Co-founder of Project Ploughshares, Peace Brigades International and Peacefund Canada, for decades he has initiated and guided the development of aid organizations, lobby groups and conferences on peace issues. Over many years, both the federal government and the United Nations have called on his expertise as an advisor on disarmament and arms control. Selected to help establish the United Nations World Disarmament Campaign, he played a critical role in drafting the policy document passed by the General Assembly.
