In his half-century as a Buddhist leader he has worked for the integration of Japanese-Canadians into southern Alberta society. Notable among his accomplishments is the Nikka Yuko Garden which was Lethbridge's Centennial project and which is considered one of the best Japanese gardens outside Japan.
