One of Canada's leading geologists now residing in Toronto, he began by exploring for gold in eastern and western Canada. But it was through his uranium discoveries in the west and particularly in Ontario that he made his name. His theory concerning the source of radioactive readings in the Algoma area led to the uncovering of the world's greatest deposits near Blind River.
