By the age of fifteen Toronto-born Robert Bateman had already painted every North American species of hawk and owl. After a period of teaching in Canada and Nigeria he turned to animal art full-time and has developed his precise technique and distinctive style to the point where he is now one of the world's great wildlife artists.
