John MacNaughton has shown outstanding leadership in the financial services industry as well as in the voluntary and public sectors. He has served as president of Nesbitt Burns, chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and founding president and chief executive officer of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. He has also served as president of the Empire Club of Canada and as chairman of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Throughout his career, he has been regarded as a long-term thinker, a consensus builder and a role model for responsible citizenship.
